For over 87 years, the Charlotte Optimist Club has maintained its commitment to the youth and the betterment of our community by forming new clubs to address the growing need. Today several other Optimist Clubs serve our community with more than 200 members. But with today's busier-than-ever schedules, we're in need of new members who would like to step up and give us a hand and continue our legacy.

   •  You can enjoy many interesting speakers and the camaraderie of other Optimists at our twice a month, lunch get-togethers, on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays.

What you can do as an Optimist Club member
   •  You can help with our Oratorical Contest by taking a leadership position and/or becoming a coach to work with our eighth-grade students at Alexander Graham Middle School.
   •  You can help with the Salvation Army “Center of Hope” dinner.
   •  You can help organize our Respect for Law and Youth Appreciation programs.
   •  You can help us organize a Junior Optimist Club.   
   •  You can help us raise funds for our Golf tournament.
   •  You can become a member of the Board and provide new direction and oversight of the Club’s activities.
   •  You can help launch new programs for kids.
   •  You can take a leadership role in our District activities.
